Conditions Worsen, Race Start Could be Impacted
Indianapolis 500 Officially in Weather Delay
The 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, scheduled for Sunday, May 26, 2024, is officially in a weather delay. Conditions worsened around 1 p.m., and track president Doug Boles said rain could impact the start of the race.
The race is 200 laps, or 500 miles, around Indianapolis Motor Speedway's 2.5-mile oval. The greatest drivers in racing are competing, including last year's winner, Marcus Ericsson.
